India Condemns Attack On UAE Nuclear Plant
India has expressed deep concern over the drone attack targeting the Barakah nuclear facility in the United Arab Emirates, calling it unacceptable and a dangerous escalation amid rising tensions in West Asia.
India Condemns Barakah Nuclear Plant Attack
The Ministry of External Affairs said India is deeply concerned by the attack on the Barakah nuclear facility and urged all sides to exercise restraint. New Delhi also called for a return to dialogue and diplomacy to prevent further escalation in the region.
The statement came after drones targeted the UAE’s Barakah nuclear site, raising serious concerns over the security of critical civilian infrastructure during the ongoing regional conflict.
UAE Nuclear Facility Drone Strike
UAE authorities said three drones entered from the western border. One drone struck the inner perimeter of the nuclear facility, while two others were intercepted.
Officials said there were no injuries and no impact on radiation levels after the incident. The strike reportedly triggered a fire near the facility, but authorities said safety systems remained in place.
West Asia Tensions Escalate
The UAE condemned the attack as an unprovoked act of aggression and said it would not tolerate threats to its security and sovereignty. The Barakah nuclear plant is the Arab world’s only nuclear power facility and is a major part of the UAE’s energy system.
The incident has intensified concerns over the widening impact of the West Asia conflict, especially with attacks now involving sensitive energy and nuclear infrastructure. India’s response reflects its concern over regional stability, energy security and the safety of Indian citizens in the Gulf.
