80 Isha Pilgrims Missing in Nepal-Tibet Floods
Isha Foundation founder Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev has said an 80-member group returning from the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage remains unaccounted for after catastrophic flash floods struck the Gyirong area near the Nepal-Tibet border. The spiritual leader became emotional while addressing followers and described the disaster as an extraordinary tragedy.

Sadhguru said the foundation’s S3 pilgrimage group had reached the immigration facility at Gyirong shortly before floodwaters swept through the area.
According to him, the group leader sent a message at around 9.05 am confirming their arrival at immigration. The disaster struck approximately nine minutes later.
The 80-member group comprised 34 men and 46 women from several countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Nepal.
Their status remains officially unconfirmed, and search efforts are continuing.
Sadhguru Seeks Access to Flood-Hit Area
Sadhguru said he had attempted to travel towards Gyirong but roads and communication links had been badly damaged.
He said efforts were underway through diplomatic channels to secure permission for him and a small team to reach the affected area and assist with coordination.
Three volunteers and a doctor staying separately near the area have also been reported uncontactable.
Nepal-Tibet Flood Disaster Hits Kailash Route
The floods devastated settlements, roads, bridges and border infrastructure across Nepal and Tibet, leaving large numbers of residents, tourists and pilgrims missing.
Preliminary scientific assessments indicate that a massive collapse involving glacial ice, rock and debris triggered the destructive surge through the Himalayan river system.
Rescue operations remain difficult because of damaged roads, unstable terrain and disrupted communications.
