PM Modi Begins Five-Nation Diplomatic Tour
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has begun a five-nation tour covering the UAE, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy, with trade, investment, energy security and the West Asia crisis expected to dominate the agenda.
PM Modi Five-Nation Tour
The visit began with the United Arab Emirates, where PM Modi is expected to discuss energy cooperation, bilateral trade and regional developments with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The UAE remains a key partner for India in crude oil, LNG, investment and strategic petroleum reserves.
The tour comes at a sensitive time as tensions in West Asia have raised concerns over oil supply, shipping routes and energy prices.
India Europe Trade Push
After the UAE leg, PM Modi’s Europe schedule includes the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy. In the Netherlands, talks are expected to focus on trade, technology, semiconductors, water management, agriculture and innovation.
The visit also comes as India seeks to strengthen economic ties with Europe and build momentum around the India-EU trade agreement. Greater cooperation with European countries is expected to support investment, clean technology and resilient supply chains.
India-Nordic Summit In Norway
PM Modi will attend the India-Nordic Summit in Oslo, where leaders from Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Sweden are expected to participate. The summit is likely to focus on renewable energy, green technology, climate action, digital innovation and Arctic cooperation.
The final leg in Italy is expected to further strengthen India’s engagement with a major European and G7 partner. The tour underlines New Delhi’s effort to balance energy security, trade growth and strategic diplomacy amid global uncertainty.
