Doctor Shot Dead Inside Delhi Hospital by Two Minors

A shocking incident unfolded at Neema Hospital in Delhi’s Jaitpur area on Wednesday when a doctor, identified as Javed Akhtar, was shot dead inside his cabin by two individuals seeking medical attention.

According to the police, the assailants, both minors, had come to the hospital for treatment before requesting to meet Dr. Akhtar, a Unani practitioner.

Attack Inside Hospital Cabin

The two teenagers initially entered the hospital under the pretext of needing medical care. After being directed to Dr. Akhtar’s cabin, they met him alone and opened fire, killing him instantly before fleeing the scene. The police have retrieved CCTV footage that shows the accused exiting the hospital premises immediately after the shooting.

Investigation Underway to Locate the Suspects

Shortly after the attack, the District Crime Team and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team from Rohini were called to the site to gather evidence. “A search is underway for the absconding accused. CCTV footage is being reviewed to track them down. All the facts are being investigated,” said the police.

Preliminary reports suggest that the shooting was a targeted killing, as the incident appeared to be unprovoked. The police are currently investigating the motive behind the attack and searching for the two minors involved.

Rising Crime Concerns in Delhi

Reacting to the incident, Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj blamed the Central government and Delhi LG VK Saxena’s administration for the rising crime rate in the national capital. He criticized the authorities for failing to maintain law and order, which he believes led to such a brazen attack inside a hospital.

Recent Violent Incidents in the Capital

This incident comes just days after another fatal shooting in Dwarka’s Mohan Nagar area, where a 36-year-old caretaker was killed while intervening in an argument between two tenants. The recent spate of violent crimes has raised concerns about safety in the city and prompted calls for stricter law enforcement.

The police are continuing their investigation into Dr. Javed Akhtar’s murder and are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward. Meanwhile, efforts to locate and apprehend the suspects are ongoing as the city grapples with concerns over increasing violent crimes.
