Rajdhani Express Coach Catches Fire Near Ratlam

A fire broke out in an air-conditioned coach of the Thiruvananthapuram-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district on Sunday morning. Railway officials said all passengers in the affected coach were evacuated safely and no passenger casualties were reported.

The incident took place around 5.15 am in the B-1 coach of train number 12431 after it had left Ratlam Junction. The train was travelling towards Hazrat Nizamuddin when the fire was reported between Luni Richha and Vikramgarh Alot stations.

The affected coach reportedly had 68 passengers, who were moved out within minutes as railway staff began emergency response measures.

Passengers Evacuated Safely

Railway officials said there were no passenger deaths or injuries in the fire. The affected coach was isolated, and emergency teams were sent to the spot to bring the situation under control.

The incident disrupted train movement on the busy Mumbai-Delhi rail route, leading to delays in several services. Railway authorities also issued helpline numbers for passengers seeking updates on train operations.

Railway Staff Injured In Relief Vehicle Accident

In a separate incident linked to the emergency response, five railway employees were injured when a vehicle carrying equipment to the fire site overturned on the way. Officials said they were being taken for treatment.

The cause of the fire has not yet been officially confirmed. Railway authorities are expected to conduct a detailed inquiry into the incident and assess the extent of damage to the affected coach.
