Over 150 Countries to Celebrate Ayurveda Day 2024 on October 29
The Ministry of Ayush is set to celebrate the 9th Ayurveda Day on October 29, 2024, with participation from over 150 countries worldwide.
This year’s theme, “Ayurveda Innovations for Global Health,” aims to highlight Ayurveda’s growing contribution to global healthcare. The main event will be hosted at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in New Delhi, with a month-long series of activities already underway across the country.
Ayurveda as a Global Health Solution
Union Minister of State for Ayush, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, emphasized the growing global movement surrounding Ayurveda Day, reflecting Ayurveda’s rising importance in promoting health worldwide. He also noted the Ministry’s goal to position Ayurveda as a robust system of medicine for public welfare, and this year’s celebrations focus on showcasing the innovative contributions of Ayurveda to global health.
Ayurveda’s Role in Tackling Modern Health Challenges
Ayush Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha highlighted Ayurveda’s integration with modern science to address critical health issues such as non-communicable diseases, mental health, and antimicrobial resistance. Several digital initiatives, including the Ayurgyan Scheme, Ayush Research Portal, and Namaste Portal, are making Ayurvedic knowledge more accessible globally.
Participation of Startups and Researchers in Ayurveda Day 2024
The 2024 celebrations will also see strong participation from startups and industry, underscoring Ayurveda’s potential for innovation. Experts, including Dr. Manoj Nesari and Dr. Mohan Singh, noted the event’s importance in inspiring young innovators and promoting research into Ayurveda’s scientific relevance.
