NEET-UG Re-Exam Pressure

The NEET-UG 2026 re-examination is scheduled for June 21 after the earlier exam was cancelled amid allegations of irregularities and a paper leak. The matter is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

According to police, family members said the student had been distressed for a few days after the cancellation but had resumed preparation for the re-exam. They also said she was under pressure because of the upcoming test.

Student Mental Health Concerns

The incident has again highlighted the intense academic and emotional pressure faced by students preparing for competitive entrance examinations. NEET-UG remains one of India’s most competitive medical entrance tests, with lakhs of candidates appearing each year.

Authorities are expected to continue their inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death. The case has also renewed calls for stronger counselling, emotional support and stress-management systems for students preparing for high-stakes examinations.
