IAF Likely To Transport NEET-UG Papers
The Centre is considering using the Indian Air Force to transport NEET-UG retest question papers as part of a tighter security plan following concerns over paper leaks and examination integrity.
IAF May Handle NEET-UG Paper Transport
Government officials are exploring whether Indian Air Force aircraft can be used to move NEET-UG question papers securely across the country. The proposal is aimed at reducing leak risks during printing, storage and movement of exam material.
The plan was discussed at a high-level meeting involving senior ministers and officials. A final decision is expected after further review, but the move signals a major change in how sensitive national examination material may be handled.
NEET-UG Retest Security Tightened
The NEET-UG retest is scheduled for June 21 after the earlier examination came under scrutiny over alleged paper leak concerns. The National Testing Agency is working under a compressed timeline to ensure the exam is conducted smoothly.
Officials are also looking at secure storage locations beyond the traditional use of bank premises. The focus is on building a multi-layered system involving transportation security, safe custody and closer coordination with state authorities.
Centre Adopts Whole-Government Approach
The proposed use of the IAF is part of a wider “whole-of-government” approach to protect the credibility of the medical entrance examination. The plan may involve coordination among the Education Ministry, Defence Ministry, Home Ministry, central agencies and state police.
The development comes amid growing pressure on authorities to restore public confidence in competitive exams and prevent any repeat of paper leak allegations.
