Modi Warns Middle East War Could Hurt Growth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has warned that the ongoing Middle East conflict and wider global instability could wipe out years of development gains, pushing millions back into poverty and weakening economic progress across the world.

Modi Warns Of Decade Of Crises

Modi described the current global situation as a “decade of crises,” pointing to the combined impact of wars, supply chain disruptions, inflationary pressure and energy insecurity. He said the world cannot afford prolonged instability at a time when many countries are still recovering from earlier shocks.

The Prime Minister said conflicts do not remain limited to one region, as their effects spread through fuel prices, trade routes, food security and global financial systems.

Middle East War Threatens Global Economy

Modi warned that the Middle East conflict could seriously affect developing nations, especially those dependent on imported fuel and external trade. He said rising uncertainty in key energy corridors could hurt growth, increase costs and strain public finances.

India has repeatedly called for restraint, dialogue and diplomacy in West Asia, while also focusing on energy security and protection of supply chains.

India Pushes Trusted Supply Chains

The Prime Minister said countries must build resilient and trusted supply chains to protect development from repeated global shocks. He also underlined India’s role as a stable partner in manufacturing, technology and energy cooperation.

His remarks come as India works to reduce vulnerability to external disruptions through stronger domestic production, diversified imports and closer strategic partnerships with key energy and trade partners.
