Iran Guards Official Says New U.S. War Unlikely

A senior official of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy has said the possibility of a renewed war with the United States is “low,” while warning that Iran’s armed forces remain prepared to respond to any attack.

Iran Guards On U.S. War Risk

Mohammad Akbarzadeh, deputy political chief of the IRGC Navy, said on Wednesday that the chance of another war with the United States was limited. He linked this assessment to what he described as the weakness of Iran’s enemies.

His remarks came amid continuing tensions between Tehran and Washington over regional security, military deployments and Iran’s wider confrontation with U.S.-aligned forces in West Asia.

IRGC Navy Issues Warning

Akbarzadeh said Iran’s armed forces were “lying in wait with full magazines,” signalling that Tehran remains militarily prepared despite assessing the likelihood of war as low.

He also warned that Iran would turn the area from Chabahar to Mahshahr into a “graveyard for aggressors” if attacked. The two locations lie near opposite ends of Iran’s southern coastline, covering a strategically important stretch along the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf.

Iran-U.S. Tensions In Gulf Region

The statement reflects Iran’s continuing effort to project deterrence in the Gulf region, where shipping lanes, energy routes and military deployments remain sensitive flashpoints.

While the Iranian official played down the possibility of immediate conflict, his remarks showed that Tehran is still presenting a hard military posture. The warning also comes at a time when regional security concerns remain high due to repeated tensions involving Iran, the United States, Israel and maritime activity near key Gulf routes.
