India’s Response Always Measured, Says EAM Jaishankar to US
Amid escalating tensions with Pakistan, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has assured the United States that India’s actions in response to cross-border attacks have remained restrained and calculated. In a conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Jaishankar emphasized that India has acted responsibly despite multiple provocations from across the border.
Taking to social media after the call, Jaishankar stated, “Had a conversation with US @SecRubio this morning. India’s approach has always been measured and responsible and remains so.”
This reassurance comes as India continues to counter an unprecedented wave of drone attacks, artillery strikes, and attempted infiltrations originating from Pakistani territory. Indian forces have responded with targeted strikes on terror infrastructure and military installations across the border, including precision operations under the recently launched Operation Sindoor.
India Reinforces Diplomatic Balance Amid Military Action
India’s communication with the US signals its intent to maintain transparency with global partners even while taking firm military action to safeguard its territory. Jaishankar’s remarks reflect a strategic balance — underlining that India is not seeking escalation, but will act decisively against terrorism and cross-border violations.
The US, which has also urged both India and Pakistan to de-escalate, has remained engaged with both nations’ leadership over the past week. While Washington has offered assistance in facilitating dialogue, New Delhi has underscored its right to defend itself within the framework of international law.
India’s Position Gains Diplomatic Ground
By portraying its military actions as restrained and proportionate, India is reinforcing its image as a responsible regional power responding to terror threats with precision rather than provocation. The Ministry of External Affairs continues to brief key allies on the evolving security situation, ensuring international understanding of India’s position.
As hostilities continue, India has made it clear that national security will not be compromised, even as diplomatic channels remain open.
