India PCB Exports To China Surge
India’s printed circuit board exports to China surged sharply in FY26, marking an unusual bright spot in a bilateral trade relationship that continues to be dominated by India’s large electronics imports from China.
India PCB Exports To China Surge
India exported $1.5 billion worth of printed circuit boards to China in FY26, a more than 40-fold jump from $36 million in FY25. The surge made China the destination for nearly 80% of India’s total PCB exports during the year.
Overall PCB exports from India rose more than 20-fold to $1.9 billion in FY26, according to commerce department data. The sharp increase suggests that India is beginning to find a place in select segments of the electronics component supply chain.
Electronics Trade With China
Despite the export jump, India’s trade dependence on China remains significant. India imported $46.4 billion worth of electronics items from China in FY26, accounting for nearly 35% of its total imports from the country.
India’s overall exports to China rose around 37% to $19.5 billion in FY26, while the bilateral trade deficit stood at about $112.1 billion. PCBs became India’s second-largest export item to China after light naphtha.
India Electronics Manufacturing Push
Officials and industry experts believe the PCB export rise may reflect the growth of smaller Indian manufacturers moving from assembly to limited-scale production for exports.
PCB manufacturing is covered under India’s ₹22,919 crore Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme, which supports multi-layer PCBs, high-density interconnect PCBs and copper-clad laminates. The first approved projects under the scheme are expected to support domestic demand and improve India’s value addition in electronics manufacturing.
