A scintillating century by Sanju Samson and a dominant all-round performance saw India set a massive target of 297/6, the highest T20I total for the Men in Blue, surpassing their previous best of 260/5 against Sri Lanka in 2017.
Sanju Samson’s Explosive Century Leads India
Winning the toss and opting to bat, India got off to a flying start, thanks to Sanju Samson’s blistering knock of 111 off just 47 balls. Samson’s explosive innings was well supported by Suryakumar Yadav, who entertained the crowd with a quickfire 75 off 35 balls. The pair put on a remarkable 173-run partnership for the second wicket, setting the foundation for India’s mammoth total. Contributions from Hardik Pandya (47 off 18 balls) and Riyan Parag (34 off 13 balls) added to the imposing score.
Bangladesh Falters in Response
In reply, Bangladesh struggled to gain momentum, managing only 164/7 in their 20 overs. Towhid Hridoy provided some resistance with an unbeaten 63 off 42 balls, while Litton Das chipped in with 42 off 25 deliveries before being dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi. Bishnoi, who replaced Arshdeep Singh in the lineup, claimed three wickets for 30 runs. Mayank Yadav also impressed with two wickets, while Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy picked up a wicket each.
