Six Labourers Killed In UP Bridge Collapse
Six labourers were killed and several others were injured after a portion of an under-construction bridge collapsed in Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur district during a severe storm on Friday.

The accident took place when a section of the bridge structure gave way, trapping workers under debris. Initial reports said the collapse involved construction material and support structures at the site.
Police and local authorities rushed to the spot after receiving information about the collapse. Rescue teams worked to remove debris and shift injured workers to nearby medical facilities.
Hamirpur Bridge Accident During Storm
Officials said the collapse occurred amid strong winds and stormy weather in the area. The exact cause of the accident will be known after a technical inspection of the construction site.
Authorities are expected to examine whether weather conditions, structural weakness, construction practices or safety lapses contributed to the incident. The condition of the injured workers is being monitored.
UP Government Orders Relief Measures
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident and directed officials to ensure proper treatment for the injured. The district administration has been asked to carry out relief and rescue work on priority.
The incident has once again raised concerns over worker safety at infrastructure construction sites, especially during extreme weather conditions.
