Gelatin Sticks Found Near PM Modi Route
A security alert was triggered in Bengaluru after two gelatin sticks were found near the route scheduled to be used by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the Art of Living Foundation campus.
Gelatin Sticks Found Near PM Modi Convoy Route
The gelatin sticks were reportedly found near Vaderahalli Gate on Kanakapura Road, around 25 feet away from the main road. The discovery was made before the Prime Minister’s convoy passed through the area, prompting police and security agencies to intensify checks along the route.
Officials secured the spot and examined the material as part of standard security procedures. The Prime Minister’s movement was not disrupted.
Bengaluru Police Launch Investigation
Bengaluru police have started an investigation to find out how the gelatin sticks reached the roadside near a sensitive convoy route. Officials are examining whether the material was dumped there, accidentally left behind, or placed with any deliberate intent.
Investigators are also expected to check CCTV footage, local movement and possible links to construction or quarrying activity in nearby areas, where such explosive materials may be used illegally or without proper safeguards.
What Are Gelatin Sticks
Gelatin sticks are explosive materials commonly used in mining, quarrying and construction-related blasting. They can be dangerous if handled carelessly or combined with detonators and other triggering mechanisms.
Police are yet to publicly confirm any terror angle. The presence of the sticks near a Prime Ministerial route, however, was treated as a serious security concern because of the location and timing.
Security Tightened In Bengaluru
Security arrangements around the Prime Minister’s visit were strengthened after the discovery. The incident has raised questions over route sanitisation, local intelligence and the movement of explosive material in and around Bengaluru.
