Domestic LPG Price Hiked By ₹29

Domestic LPG prices have been increased by ₹29 per 14.2-kg cylinder, marking the second price rise in three months as global energy market pressure and refinery losses continue to affect fuel pricing in India.

Domestic LPG Price Hike In India

The revised price has raised the cost of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi from ₹913 to ₹942. Rates may vary slightly across cities because of local taxes, transport costs and state-level pricing differences.

The latest increase follows a ₹60 per cylinder hike on March 7, when prices were raised after the West Asia conflict disrupted global energy supplies and pushed up international fuel costs.

LPG Cylinder Rates Rise Again

The price revision is expected to directly affect household budgets, especially for families that depend on LPG as their primary cooking fuel. Domestic LPG remains one of India’s most widely used household fuels, making even moderate increases politically and economically sensitive.

Oil marketing companies have been facing pressure from rising procurement costs and losses on fuel sales. The government has generally tried to prevent the full burden of global energy price volatility from being passed on to consumers, but the latest hike suggests that part of the cost pressure is now being transferred.

Iran War Impact On Fuel Prices

The deepening conflict involving Iran has added uncertainty to global oil and gas markets, particularly because West Asia remains central to global energy supply routes. Any prolonged disruption in crude oil, LPG or shipping flows can raise import costs for countries such as India.

The latest LPG hike underlines how overseas conflicts can quickly translate into higher domestic fuel prices, even when price increases are staggered rather than passed on immediately.
