CBSE Blocks Cyberattack On Re-Evaluation Portal

The Central Board of Secondary Education said it successfully blocked a major cyberattack on its verification and re-evaluation portal even as the platform processed more than 56,000 student applications.

CBSE Blocks 3.8 Million-Packet Cyberattack

CBSE said its portal faced a 3.8 million-packet denial-of-service attack on Tuesday afternoon. The Board said its technical teams managed to block the attack and kept the platform operational for students.

The cyberattack targeted the portal used for verification of scanned answer books and re-evaluation requests. CBSE said it is continuing to monitor system performance and introduce improvements for a smoother user experience.

CBSE Re-Evaluation Portal Crosses 56,000 Applications

Despite the attempted disruption, CBSE said the portal had received more than 56,000 applications for verification and re-evaluation by 9:30 pm.

The portal is available to students who had already received scanned copies of their evaluated answer books. Students can report issues such as missing pages, missing supplementary sheets, blurred scans, wrong answer books or evaluation against a different question paper set. They can also apply for re-evaluation of specific answers.

CBSE Payment Gateways Handle Heavy Traffic

CBSE has integrated payment gateways from SBI, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank and Indian Bank to handle the large volume of applications.

SBI has processed more than 40,000 CBSE-linked transactions so far. Bank of Baroda has handled over 7,500 transactions, Canara Bank over 4,000 and Indian Bank more than 5,000. CBSE said it is strengthening digital safeguards amid continued scrutiny of its examination systems.
