Akhilesh Yadav Hits Back At Rajbhar Over SP Split Claim

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday dismissed Uttar Pradesh minister Om Prakash Rajbhar’s claim that the party was heading for a major split, saying the SP was prepared to face political challenges as the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections draw closer.

Akhilesh Yadav Responds To Rajbhar Claim

Akhilesh Yadav hit back after Rajbhar claimed that several Samajwadi Party leaders were ready to join the BJP. Responding to the remarks, the SP president accused the BJP of using defections and internal divisions as a political strategy against opposition parties.

He said the BJP had earlier engineered splits in several parties and had also taken away SP MLAs, MLCs and leaders linked to Rajya Sabha politics. Akhilesh added that while every party faces internal pressures, the Samajwadi Party remained fully prepared to deal with such attempts.

Samajwadi Party Denies Split Rumours

The Samajwadi Party rejected suggestions of an internal crisis. Akhilesh Yadav said the organisation remained strong despite political ups and downs and was ready to challenge the BJP in Uttar Pradesh.

Rajbhar had claimed that the SP was on the verge of a major split and alleged that the “entire SP” was ready to join the BJP. He also referred to alleged pressure on the party over investigations linked to past cases, including mining and Gomti Riverfront matters.

Uttar Pradesh Politics Heats Up Before 2027 Polls

Rajbhar also claimed that senior SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav had written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. However, no public evidence or details were cited to support the allegation.

SP MP Rajeev Rai also dismissed Rajbhar’s remarks, mocking them as excessive political talk. The exchange comes as both the BJP-led NDA and the opposition SP sharpen their messaging ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
