Special Court Orders FIR, Karnataka Lokayukta to Probe Siddaramaiah in Muda Case

In a key development, a special court handling cases against Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of Legislative Assemblies (MLAs) has ordered the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) in the Muda case. The Karnataka Lokayukta, the state’s anti-corruption body, has been tasked with investigating the allegations against former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is reportedly involved in the case.

The special court, presided over by Judge Santhosh Gajanan Bhat, directed the Mysuru Lokayukta police to initiate an investigation based on a formal complaint lodged by Snehamayi Krishna. Under Section 156(3) of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Lokayukta is required to register an FIR and submit a report within three months.

The court’s order marks a significant step in the ongoing probe into the Muda case, and the Karnataka Lokayukta will be responsible for carrying out the investigation in accordance with the law.
