RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Highlights National Strength, Cultural Unity on Vijayadashami

On the occasion of Vijayadashami Utsav 2024, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat delivered a powerful speech underscoring the importance of national strength, cultural unity, and self-reliance as the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) approaches its centenary year. Addressing the gathering, Bhagwat highlighted key historical figures and their contributions to Bharat’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

Celebrating Historical Legacy and Leadership

This year’s Vijayadashami Utsav marked the 300th birth anniversary of Punyashlok Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar, whom Bhagwat praised for her exemplary leadership, administrative prowess, and efforts to restore pilgrimage sites. He also noted the significance of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati, the founder of Arya Samaj, who worked to eliminate social distortions and promote Dharma.

The speech also commemorated the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, a freedom fighter and tribal leader who fought against exploitation and foreign domination.

Addressing National Challenges

Bhagwat emphasized that while Bharat has made substantial progress and gained global respect in recent years, there remain challenges to national security, social harmony, and values. He voiced concern over divisive forces seeking to destabilize the country through false narratives and cultural erosion, referencing recent events like the violence in Bangladesh and its implications for the Hindu minority.

Strength, Cultural Unity, and National Character

Bhagwat stressed the need for an organized society rooted in cultural unity to counter these challenges. He called for a revival of core Bharatiya values in education, family, and society. Additionally, he warned of the growing influence of divisive ideologies, urging citizens to remain vigilant and committed to the nation’s strength.

The speech concluded with a call for self-reliance, strength, and unity to ensure Bharat’s continued growth and contribution to global peace.
