Rahul Gandhi Challenges Arvind Kejriwal Over Unfulfilled Yamuna Clean-Up Promise
In a recent election rally in Bawana, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi intensified his criticism of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal, challenging him to drink water from the Yamuna River. Gandhi accused Kejriwal of failing to fulfill his earlier promise to clean the river, highlighting that despite assurances made five years ago, the Yamuna remains polluted.
Gandhi further criticized Kejriwal for allegedly running a corrupt administration, referencing the so-called “liquor scam” and accusing him of deceiving the public with unkept promises. He contrasted Kejriwal’s lifestyle, mentioning his residence referred to as a ‘sheesh mahal’ (glass palace), with the plight of Delhi residents who continue to contend with polluted water.
The Congress leader also reiterated his party’s commitment to conducting a caste census and challenging the existing 50% cap on reservations, urging Kejriwal to clarify his stance on these issues.
As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, scheduled for February 5, the political discourse between Congress and AAP has become increasingly confrontational, despite both parties being part of the broader INDIA bloc.
