PM Modi Receives Slovakia’s Top Honour

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received Slovakia’s highest state honour, the Order of the White Double Cross, First Class, during his official visit to Bratislava, marking another diplomatic recognition for India’s global engagement.

PM Modi receives Slovakia highest award

The award was conferred on PM Modi by Slovak President Peter Pellegrini at a ceremony in Bratislava. The honour is among Slovakia’s most prestigious national recognitions and is awarded for distinguished contributions to the country and its international relations.

PM Modi dedicated the award to the people of India and the friendship between India and Slovakia. The recognition comes during his visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties with the Central European nation.

India Slovakia relations strengthened

The visit is significant as it marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since the country became independent in 1993. PM Modi held talks with Slovak leaders, including Prime Minister Robert Fico, as both sides explored ways to expand cooperation.

India and Slovakia have been working to deepen engagement in areas such as trade, investment, defence, technology, innovation, clean energy and culture. The visit is expected to give fresh momentum to bilateral relations.

Order of the White Double Cross honour

The Order of the White Double Cross, First Class, adds to the list of international honours conferred on PM Modi by foreign governments. It reflects the growing visibility of India’s diplomatic outreach and partnerships across Europe.

The award ceremony was held as India and Slovakia moved to strengthen political and economic cooperation. Both sides are expected to continue discussions on new areas of partnership, including strategic industries, education, research and people-to-people exchanges.
