Palaniswami Rejects Tamil Nadu Exit Polls
AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has rejected exit poll projections for the Tamil Nadu Assembly election, claiming that the AIADMK-led alliance will secure a strong victory when votes are counted. His remarks came after several exit polls predicted an advantage for the DMK-led alliance.
Palaniswami Rejects Exit Poll Predictions
Palaniswami dismissed the exit poll numbers and said they did not reflect the actual mood of voters in Tamil Nadu. He claimed that the AIADMK alliance would win in 210 constituencies and form the next government in the State.
The AIADMK leader said party workers and alliance partners had worked hard across Tamil Nadu and expressed confidence that the final result would be different from the projections shown by survey agencies and television channels.
AIADMK Claims Strong Ground Support
According to Palaniswami, voters had responded positively to the AIADMK campaign and were looking for a change in government. He said the party had received encouraging feedback from constituencies across the State.
He also urged cadres to remain alert until the counting process is completed. Political parties in Tamil Nadu have often asked their workers to closely monitor counting centres, especially when exit polls create competing narratives before the official results.
Tamil Nadu Awaits Official Election Results
Most exit polls have projected an edge for the DMK-led alliance, while the AIADMK and its allies have rejected those forecasts. Other political parties have also advised voters and cadres to wait for the official results instead of relying fully on exit poll projections.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly has 234 seats, and a party or alliance needs 118 seats to form the government. The final outcome will be known only after the Election Commission completes the counting process.
