Pakistan Signs US Lobbying Deal
Pakistan has signed a two-year lobbying agreement worth $1.2 million in Washington as it seeks to improve its image in the United States and protect its strategic importance in American policy circles.
Pakistan US Lobbying Deal
The agreement came into effect on May 1, 2026, and was signed between the Pakistani Embassy in Washington and Ervin Graves Strategy Group, LLC, a US-based lobbying firm.
Under the arrangement, Pakistan will reportedly pay $50,000 per month for two years. The campaign is aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s diplomatic, economic and strategic messaging in Washington.
Pakistan Seeks Better US Image
The lobbying push is designed to project Pakistan as a reliable partner for the United States on security, trade and regional stability. It comes at a time when Islamabad is trying to retain its relevance in American policymaking.
The move is also being seen in the context of Pakistan’s efforts to manage perceptions around its role in regional security, counterterrorism and relations with China.
Washington Outreach Amid Regional Tensions
The lobbying deal comes amid wider geopolitical tensions involving Iran, Afghanistan and South Asia. Pakistan has long sought to position itself as a key security partner for Washington despite recurring concerns over terrorism, political instability and military influence in its foreign policy.
The latest agreement indicates that Islamabad is investing heavily in professional outreach to shape opinion in the US capital and protect its strategic status.
