Mallikarjun Kharge Alleges Ram Temple Fund Misuse
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has alleged misuse of funds linked to Ayodhya’s Ram Temple and demanded an investigation into the handling of donations. The remarks were made during a political address in Karnataka, where he also criticised the BJP-led government over national issues.
Mallikarjun Kharge Alleges Ram Temple Fund Misuse
Kharge claimed that around ₹5,000 crore collected in the name of the Ayodhya Ram Temple had been misused. He questioned where temple donation money was going and said the matter should be investigated to identify those responsible.
The Congress president alleged that donations collected over several years for the temple project had not been properly accounted for. He also accused the BJP of using religion for political mobilisation while failing to ensure transparency in the handling of temple funds.
Congress Demands Probe Into Ayodhya Donations
Kharge said an inquiry was necessary to establish whether individuals linked to the ruling side or others were involved in any alleged financial irregularities. His comments came amid wider political debate over claims of missing donations and fund misuse connected to the temple.
The allegation is political in nature and has not yet been established by an official investigation. The BJP and temple authorities are expected to reject the charges and defend the management of temple-related funds.
Kharge Targets BJP Over National Issues
Apart from the Ram Temple fund allegation, Kharge also attacked the Centre over inflation, unemployment, education issues and the NEET controversy. He accused the government of failing students, workers and ordinary citizens.
The remarks are likely to intensify the political exchange between the Congress and BJP, especially as the Ayodhya Ram Temple remains a sensitive religious and electoral issue.
