KL Rahul Eyes T20I Comeback Through Strong IPL 2025 Performance
Indian cricketer KL Rahul has set his sights on a T20I comeback, planning to leverage the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season as a platform to regain his place in India’s T20 squad.
Rahul, who last played a T20I match for India on November 10, 2022, against England in Adelaide, was recently released by the Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Determined to make a mark, the 32-year-old batter shared his plans to use the upcoming IPL season to showcase his capabilities.
In a video shared by Star Sports, Rahul expressed his optimism, saying, “I’ve been out of the T20 team for a while, and I know where I stand as a player and what I need to do to get back. So, I look forward to this IPL season to give me that platform to go back and enjoy my cricket, and my aim is to obviously get back into the T20 team.”
Aiming for a Stellar Performance in IPL 2025
Rahul believes a strong performance in IPL 2025 could be instrumental in paving the way for his return to the national T20I squad. Known for his impressive record in T20 cricket, Rahul is one of only four Indian players to have scored multiple centuries in T20 internationals. With 2,265 runs in 72 T20I matches, he currently ranks fourth among India’s top run-scorers in the shortest format.
The star batter’s ambitions reflect his deep commitment to representing India once more in T20 cricket, with the IPL serving as his proving ground.
