Karnataka Congress Leadership Decision Soon
The Congress high command is likely to take a decision on the Karnataka leadership issue in the next two to three days after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met senior party leaders in New Delhi. The meeting comes amid renewed speculation over a possible change in leadership and a Cabinet reshuffle in the State.
Karnataka Leadership Change Talks Intensify
Siddaramaiah met the Congress leadership after being called to Delhi for discussions on Karnataka’s political situation. Party sources indicated that the leadership issue, Cabinet reshuffle and upcoming Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections were among the matters discussed.
The meeting has drawn attention because of earlier speculation over a possible power-sharing understanding between Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
Siddaramaiah Says High Command Decision Final
Siddaramaiah has maintained that he will follow the decision of the Congress high command. He has also played down speculation around his continuation as Chief Minister, saying party decisions are taken collectively.
Shivakumar, who is also the Karnataka Congress president, has remained central to the leadership debate. Any decision by the high command will need to balance governance, party unity and regional political equations.
Congress Weighs Cabinet Reshuffle In Karnataka
Apart from the Chief Minister question, Congress is also expected to review the performance of ministers and possible changes in the Cabinet. The reshuffle debate has been pending for months.
The party is also preparing for Rajya Sabha and Council nominations. With Karnataka being one of Congress’s strongest states, the leadership decision will be closely watched for its impact on state politics and party stability.
