K Kavitha Launches Telangana Rashtra Sena

Former BRS leader K Kavitha formally launched her own political party, Telangana Rashtra Sena, on Saturday, months after she was suspended from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi over alleged anti-party activities.

K Kavitha Launches New Party In Telangana

Kavitha, the daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, launched the new outfit after announcing its formation last month.

The former MP said the party would focus on universal welfare, inclusive development and self-sufficiency. She has positioned the new platform as an attempt to address what she called the unmet aspirations of the people of Telangana.

Telangana Rashtra Sena Political Agenda

Kavitha said the party’s aim is to take governance closer to the people and resolve issues at the grassroots level. She said the new political platform would serve people irrespective of caste, religion or community.

She also referred to the original goals of the Telangana statehood movement, including water, funds and jobs. Kavitha said these promises had not been fully achieved even more than a decade after Telangana became a separate state.

Kavitha Targets BRS And BJP

Kavitha has criticised both the BRS and the BJP, accusing them of failing to act as effective opposition parties in Telangana. Earlier this week, she also took a swipe at the BRS, saying the party would not change even after 1,000 years.

Her new party is expected to add another political dimension to Telangana, where the Congress is in power and regional political space has been dominated by the BRS for years.
