Iran Seeks Shift From No War Status
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said Iran must move beyond the current “neither war nor peace” situation, while stressing that Tehran does not seek war but will not surrender if its sovereignty is threatened.
Iran No War No Peace Position
Pezeshkian made the remarks at an event in Tehran, where he said the current regional situation could not continue indefinitely. He said war was not in Iran’s national interest, but warned that the country would resist any attempt to violate its dignity, land or territory.
His comments came amid heightened regional tensions involving Iran, the United States and other actors in West Asia. Tehran has repeatedly said it wants to avoid wider conflict while maintaining its right to defend itself.
Pezeshkian Warns Against Pressure
The Iranian President said managing the country during war and crisis was difficult and called for unity across Iranian society. He stressed that all sections of the country must cooperate to overcome the challenges facing Iran.
Pezeshkian said Iran must move forward with dignity in a way that protects the country’s future from crises and instability. His remarks reflected Tehran’s attempt to balance deterrence with calls for political and social cohesion.
Iran Regional Tensions Continue
The statement comes as Iran faces pressure over regional security, diplomacy and its confrontation with the United States. The country’s leadership has repeatedly rejected surrender while leaving room for a path that avoids prolonged conflict.
Pezeshkian’s remarks signal that Tehran is seeking a shift from the current uncertain situation, but without appearing to retreat under pressure. The next phase will depend on whether regional tensions move toward diplomacy or further escalation.
