Iran Condemns US Strikes On Bandar Abbas
Iran has condemned fresh US strikes near Bandar Abbas and criticised President Donald Trump’s warning against Oman, as tensions around the Strait of Hormuz continued to rise amid the ongoing conflict.
Iran Condemns Bandar Abbas Strikes
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the latest US action near Bandar Abbas was an act of aggression and a violation of international law. Tehran said Washington would be responsible for the consequences of any further escalation.
US officials have described the strikes as defensive, saying they targeted Iranian drone-related facilities and threats to American forces and commercial shipping near the Strait of Hormuz. The US also said it intercepted Iranian one-way attack drones in the area.
Trump Warning To Oman Draws Criticism
Iran also criticised Trump’s remarks about Oman after the US President warned that Washington would act if Muscat joined any arrangement with Tehran to control or manage shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump rejected reports that Iran and Oman could jointly oversee movement through the waterway, saying no country would be allowed to control it. His comments drew attention because Oman has traditionally played a mediator role in regional disputes.
Strait Of Hormuz Tensions Continue
The Strait of Hormuz remains central to the crisis because it is one of the world’s most important energy transit routes. Any disruption to shipping through the narrow waterway can quickly affect oil prices, insurance costs and global fuel supply chains.
The latest exchange comes as diplomatic efforts continue to reduce hostilities, but repeated strikes, drone interceptions and public warnings have kept the ceasefire fragile.
