Indian Army Denies Chinese Encroachment In Arunachal
The Indian Army has rejected reports claiming that Chinese PLA troops recently encroached into Arunachal Pradesh and set up camps inside Indian territory, calling the allegations incorrect and without any basis.
Indian Army Refutes Chinese Encroachment Reports
The Army said it had taken note of media reports alleging recent encroachment by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army in Arunachal Pradesh. It clarified that the reports of PLA camps being established in the state were not accurate.
The statement came after concerns were raised over alleged Chinese activity in border areas of Upper Subansiri district. The Army’s response sought to counter speculation and reassure that the reported claims did not reflect the ground situation.
Arunachal Pradesh Border Claim
The controversy began after a local organisation from the Taksing area reportedly alleged that the PLA had expanded its presence near the India-China border. The group claimed that traditional grazing, hunting and forest areas used by local communities had become difficult to access over the years.
The allegations triggered public concern because Arunachal Pradesh remains a sensitive border state along the Line of Actual Control. Local communities in such regions often depend on remote high-altitude areas for grazing, movement and livelihood-related activities.
India China LAC Situation
India and China have had long-running border tensions along the Line of Actual Control, including in the eastern sector. However, the Army’s latest clarification specifically rejected the claim of fresh PLA encroachment and camp construction in Arunachal Pradesh.
The official response is significant as border-related reports can quickly create national security concerns. For now, the Army has maintained that the allegations of recent Chinese encroachment in Arunachal Pradesh are baseless.
