India Slams Pakistan At UNHRC

India has delivered a sharp response to Pakistan at the United Nations Human Rights Council, accusing Islamabad of nurturing terrorism and attempting to divert attention from its internal failures. New Delhi also raised the situation in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, saying Pakistan should address unrest under its control instead of making allegations against India.

India Slams Pakistan At UNHRC

Exercising India’s right of reply at the 62nd Session of the UNHRC, First Secretary Anupama Singh rejected Pakistan’s allegations and criticised its repeated attempts to raise India-related issues at international platforms.

India described Pakistan as a state that created and sustained terror networks as instruments of policy and was now facing the consequences of that approach. New Delhi said Pakistan’s record on terrorism and human rights weakened its credibility to speak about India.

Pakistan Terrorism Issue Raised

India said Pakistan has hosted, trained and deployed terrorists for decades while presenting itself as a victim of instability. The Indian representative argued that terrorism promoted as state policy eventually turns against the state that nurtures it.

New Delhi also rejected Pakistan’s comments on Jammu and Kashmir, reiterating that the Union Territory is an integral and inalienable part of India. It said Pakistan’s attempts to internationalise Kashmir cannot alter legal and political realities.

Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir Unrest

India also referred to protests and violence in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, saying Islamabad should focus on the concerns of people living in areas under its control. New Delhi said Pakistan must end repression and address public anger instead of using global forums to target India.

The exchange came amid continued diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan over terrorism, Kashmir, human rights and the Indus Waters Treaty.
