India Rejects Pakistan’s Kashmir Remarks At UNHRC

India has rejected Pakistan’s latest remarks on Jammu and Kashmir at the United Nations Human Rights Council, saying the Union Territory remains an integral and inalienable part of India. New Delhi also dismissed references made by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, calling them baseless and politically motivated.

India Rejects Pakistan At UNHRC

Exercising India’s right of reply at the UNHRC session in Geneva, First Secretary Anupama Singh rejected allegations made by Pakistan and references to Jammu and Kashmir by the OIC.

India said Pakistan’s repeated attempts to raise Kashmir at international forums were aimed at diverting attention from its own domestic challenges. New Delhi maintained that such statements cannot change the ground reality or India’s established position on Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu And Kashmir India Position

India reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir “was, is and will always remain” an integral and inalienable part of India. It also said the only pending issue is the return of territories under Pakistan’s illegal occupation.

New Delhi has consistently maintained that matters related to Jammu and Kashmir are internal to India. It has also objected to third-party references on the issue, including those made through multilateral platforms.

Pakistan-OIC Kashmir Remarks

India also criticised Pakistan for what it described as misuse of the OIC platform to push its position on Kashmir. The Indian representative said Pakistan’s statements were part of a broader propaganda effort and did not reflect legal or political reality.

India further pointed to unrest and repression in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, saying Islamabad should address issues within territories under its control instead of making allegations against India.

The exchange came amid continued diplomatic friction between India and Pakistan over Kashmir, terrorism and cross-border security concerns.
