HAL Prachand Proves Operational Prowess, IAF to Induct 66 More Units
The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Prachand combat helicopter has proven its effectiveness in various operational scenarios, according to Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari.
The IAF has confirmed plans to induct an additional 66 units of the indigenously developed Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) into its fleet.
Addressing media at a recent event, ACM Chaudhari stated, “The Prachand has already demonstrated its mettle in diverse operational environments, meeting all the necessary parameters for induction.” The combat helicopter has been deployed successfully in high-altitude regions and harsh terrains, showcasing its adaptability and performance under challenging conditions.

The HAL Prachand is a testament to India’s growing self-reliance in defense manufacturing. Designed and built by HAL, the LCH is tailored for high-altitude combat and is equipped with advanced avionics, precision weaponry, and night-flying capabilities.
