Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to Head Trump’s Government Efficiency Department
In a recent announcement, President-elect Donald Trump appointed tech entrepreneur Elon Musk to lead the newly-formed “Department of Government Efficiency,” aimed at restructuring and reducing federal bureaucracy. Joining Musk is Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who will co-lead the department.
“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies—essential to the ‘Save America’ Movement,” Trump stated. He expressed confidence in Musk and Ramaswamy’s ability to bring efficiency to the federal government, reducing waste and improving Americans’ lives.
Musk and Ramaswamy’s Mission to Tackle Bureaucracy
According to Trump, the primary goal of the department under Musk and Ramaswamy will be to eliminate “massive waste and fraud” within the government. Their responsibilities will include streamlining regulatory processes and minimizing redundant federal expenditures.
During his victory speech, Trump praised Musk, referring to him as an “amazing and super genius guy” and acknowledging the billionaire’s substantial role in his campaign. Musk, a vocal Trump supporter, spent time campaigning with the president-elect across key areas in Pennsylvania and Philadelphia.
Musk’s Contributions to Trump’s Re-Election Campaign
Musk, the CEO of Tesla and X (formerly Twitter), played a pivotal role in Trump’s re-election campaign, actively promoting Trump on his social media platform and contributing over $100 million to the campaign. His strong support underscores the close relationship between the two and Musk’s alignment with Trump’s vision for a streamlined government.
With this new department, Trump aims to drive meaningful change in Washington, focusing on government efficiency and transparency—a cornerstone of his “Save America” initiative.
