CBSE Portal Faces Coordinated Cyberattack Attempts

The Central Board of Secondary Education has reported coordinated cyberattack attempts on its Post-Result Services Portal, prompting Delhi Police to register an FIR and begin a probe. The board has said its systems remained secure and no sensitive data was compromised.

CBSE Post-Result Services Portal Targeted

The targeted portal is used by Class 12 students for post-result services such as marks verification, obtaining photocopies of evaluated answer sheets and applying for re-evaluation.

The attempted cyberattacks came at a time when thousands of students were using the portal after the declaration of board results. CBSE said the platform continued to function despite the attacks, and student services were not disrupted.

Delhi Police Registers FIR In CBSE Cyberattack Case

After CBSE filed a complaint, Delhi Police registered an FIR and launched an investigation into the alleged coordinated breaches. The case is being examined by cybercrime authorities, who are expected to trace the origin and nature of the attacks.

CBSE reportedly approached the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations unit after repeated attempts were detected against its digital infrastructure.

CBSE Denies Data Breach Claims

CBSE has denied claims of a data breach and said no sensitive information was compromised. The board maintained that continuous monitoring and cybersecurity measures helped keep the portal operational and protected.

The incident has raised concerns over the security of education-related digital platforms, especially during high-traffic periods linked to examinations, results and re-evaluation processes.
