Officials said the arrests were made after specific intelligence inputs about a suspected terror module operating under instructions from cross-border handlers. The accused were allegedly tasked with carrying out attacks on key installations and security personnel.
Police said the arrested suspects came from different states, including Delhi, Maharashtra and Punjab. The operation has now opened a wider investigation into the group’s funding, communications and possible local support network.

Investigators said the suspects had conducted reconnaissance in Delhi and Mumbai. In Mumbai, several bridges were allegedly surveyed, while in Delhi, government buildings, crowded places and locations with security personnel were reportedly checked.
Police also recovered Glock pistols, 25 cartridges and four grenades allegedly made in the Pakistan Ordnance Factory. The grenades were later destroyed with the help of the National Security Guard in an isolated area of Mehrauli.
Mumbai Underworld Link Under Probe
Police are also examining alleged links between the accused and the Mumbai underworld. Investigators are probing the role of Munna Jhingra, described as a close associate of Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel, in the suspected network.
