A multi-storey building collapsed near Saket Metro station in Delhi’s Saidullajab area on Saturday evening, prompting emergency teams to launch a rescue operation amid fears that people may be trapped under the debris.

The collapse was reported around 7:45 pm, after which the Delhi Fire Services received a distress call about the incident. The structure came down in the Saidullajab area, close to Saket Metro station in south Delhi.
Officials said the caller informed authorities that some people could be trapped under the debris. Emergency teams were immediately sent to the site to begin search and rescue work.
Rescue Operation Underway In Saidullajab
Five fire tenders and a light rescue vehicle were deployed for the rescue operation. Firefighters, police personnel and local residents were seen working through the rubble as efforts continued to locate anyone trapped.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the number of people affected by the collapse. No official casualty figure has been announced so far, and further details are awaited from teams at the spot.
Delhi Fire Services Respond To Collapse
Delhi Fire Services officials said teams were rushed to the location soon after receiving the call. Visuals from the area showed emergency personnel clearing debris while residents gathered near the site.
