VP Radhakrishnan Begins Sri Lanka Visit
Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan has begun a two-day official visit to Sri Lanka, marking the first bilateral visit by an Indian Vice-President to the island nation. The visit comes at a time when India and Sri Lanka are looking to deepen political engagement and strengthen cooperation on development, connectivity and regional issues.

Mr. Radhakrishnan arrived in Colombo on April 19 for meetings with Sri Lanka’s top leadership. During the visit, he is scheduled to call on President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and hold talks with Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya. The visit is being seen as an important diplomatic outreach under India’s Neighbourhood First policy.

The discussions are expected to cover bilateral ties, development cooperation and ongoing India-backed projects in Sri Lanka. First Bilateral Visit By Indian Vice-President
