Vijay Thanks Voters After TVK Surge
Actor-politician Vijay thanked the people of Tamil Nadu after his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, emerged as the single largest party in the 2026 Assembly election, calling the verdict a victory for people-driven democracy.
Vijay Thanks Tamil Nadu Voters
Vijay said the election outcome reflected the faith of ordinary voters who wanted change in Tamil Nadu politics. He thanked the people for supporting TVK in its first Assembly election and said the mandate belonged to the citizens who believed in a new political alternative.
The TVK chief also thanked party workers, volunteers and supporters for their campaign efforts across the State. He said their commitment helped the party build a direct connection with voters and turn public support into a major electoral breakthrough.
TVK Emerges As Largest Party
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam made a strong debut by winning 108 seats in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly. However, the party fell short of the 118-seat majority mark, leaving the State with a hung Assembly.
The result has shifted the focus to government formation, with TVK now exploring support from other parties. Vijay’s party has positioned itself as a fresh force in Tamil Nadu politics after challenging the dominance of the DMK and AIADMK.
Vijay Calls Verdict People-Driven Democracy
Vijay described the poll result as a victory for democracy shaped by the people rather than political machinery. His message underlined TVK’s attempt to present itself as a citizen-backed movement rooted in public participation.
The election result has also triggered wider political realignment in Tamil Nadu, with national and regional parties watching TVK’s next move closely. Vijay’s response signals that the party will seek to convert its electoral momentum into a stable governance claim.
