US Spy Chief Tulsi Gabbard Expresses Solidarity with India Following Pahalgam Attack
In the wake of the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard extended her condolences to the victims and their families. In a message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gabbard expressed solidarity with India, stating, “We stand in solidarity with India in the wake of the horrific Islamist terrorist attack, targeting and killing 26 Hindus in Pahalgam.” She further assured, “We are with you and support you as you hunt down those responsible for this heinous attack.”
Religious Motive Behind the Attack
The attack occurred on April 22, 2025, when terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists in Pahalgam’s Baisaran meadow. The assailants reportedly demanded that the victims prove their allegiance to Islam before opening fire. The Resistance Front, a Pakistan-based militant group with links to Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack. Investigations have indicated cross-border links to the perpetrators.
Global Condemnation and Support for India
The international community has widely condemned the attack. US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance have both expressed their condolences and reaffirmed America’s support for India. The US State Department has called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice. Iran has also offered to mediate and help mend ties between India and Pakistan in the aftermath of the attack.
India’s Response and Commitment to Justice
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to identify, track, and punish every terrorist and their backers involved in the attack. He emphasized that terrorism will not go unpunished and that India will pursue the perpetrators to the ends of the earth. The Indian government has ramped up diplomatic outreach to highlight the cross-border terror links emanating from Pakistan.
