US-Iran Deal Talks Near Final Stage

US President Donald Trump has said talks with Iran are in the “final stages”, even as he warned that Washington could still resume military action if Tehran does not agree to a deal.

US-Iran Peace Talks

Trump said negotiations with Iran were “on the borderline” between a possible agreement and renewed strikes. He added that the United States would wait for Iran’s response for a few days, but ruled out any relief for Tehran until a deal is reached.

Reports said efforts were underway to finalise the text of a possible agreement between Washington and Tehran. Pakistan’s military leadership has also been mentioned in reports as part of diplomatic efforts around the proposed deal.

Iran Response To US Proposal

Iran has said it is examining a new US proposal after a Pakistani mediator visited the country. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said forcing Iran to surrender through coercion was an “illusion”, while adding that all diplomatic paths remained open from Tehran’s side.

Iran has also indicated that it wants a mechanism with Oman to ensure long-term security in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy route.

Oil Prices And West Asia Tensions

Oil prices fell sharply after Trump said the US was in the final stages of talks with Iran, raising hopes of a possible easing of tensions. However, uncertainty remains high as military threats and diplomatic pressure continue side by side.

The latest developments come amid broader West Asia tensions involving Iran, Israel, Lebanon and shipping security in the Gulf region. For now, the outcome depends on whether Washington and Tehran can turn the current negotiations into a formal agreement.
