Trump Says Tomahawks Hit Iran Targets
US President Donald Trump has told US media that American forces used Tomahawk missiles to strike targets inside Iran, including locations reportedly close to Tehran, as Washington increased military pressure on Tehran amid stalled negotiations.
US Tomahawk Missiles Strike Iran Targets
Trump reportedly told Fox News that 49 Tomahawk missiles were used in the latest US strikes on Iran. He claimed some of the targets were located around 40 miles, or nearly 64 kilometres, from the Iranian capital, Tehran.
The reported comments came after US Central Command announced fresh strikes on multiple targets in Iran. The operation has been described by US officials as part of a wider military response during the ongoing confrontation with Tehran.
US Fighter Jets Target Iranian Air Defence
Trump also said US fighter jets were operating over Iranian airspace and targeting radar systems and air defence infrastructure. The reported operations were focused in southwestern Iran, close to the Persian Gulf.
Details about the full scale of the operation, the exact targets hit and possible casualties have not been independently confirmed. Iranian authorities have not issued a complete official response to Trump’s latest remarks.
Trump Warns Iran Over Negotiations
Trump reportedly warned that the US could launch further strikes if Iran does not accept an agreement proposed by US negotiators. According to US media reports, he said American forces could bomb again if Tehran rejects the deal.
The escalation has raised concerns over wider regional security, particularly near the Persian Gulf and major shipping routes. Diplomatic efforts remain uncertain as both military action and negotiations continue to shape the crisis.
