US President Donald Trump has predicted that the conflict with Iran will end immediately after the November midterm elections, claiming Tehran is attempting to prolong the confrontation to influence American voters.

US-Iran Conflict Enters Seventh Month
The confrontation between the United States and Iran has now continued for more than six months, despite Trump initially suggesting that military operations would be relatively short.
Tensions have intensified around the Strait of Hormuz, with US forces striking Iranian oil tankers following attacks attributed to Iran against American naval vessels and other targets in the Gulf.
Iran has continued retaliatory military operations while facing a US naval blockade and mounting economic pressure.
Oil Prices Rise Amid Iran Conflict
The prolonged confrontation has disrupted energy markets, with Brent crude climbing above $100 a barrel as concerns grow over shipping and oil supplies through the Gulf.
Trump has previously predicted that oil and gasoline prices will fall sharply once the conflict ends.
While he has left open the possibility of negotiations with Iran, Washington and Tehran are not currently engaged in formal talks aimed at ending the fighting.
The November midterms will determine control of the US Congress and are increasingly being shaped by concerns over the conflict, energy costs and the wider economy.
