Iran Strike Damages US Warplanes at Jordan Base
Several US military aircraft were damaged in an Iranian attack on the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, including an A-10 Thunderbolt that suffered severe wing damage and around eight F-15 fighter jets that were lightly damaged according to reports.

The attack targeted the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base near Al Azraq, a key facility used by American forces operating in the Middle East.
Reports citing people familiar with the damage said one A-10 Thunderbolt II, commonly known as the Warthog, was left with a badly damaged wing.
Around eight F-15 fighter jets also sustained minor damage. Those aircraft were considered serviceable and were subsequently returned to operation.
US Central Command had not publicly provided a detailed assessment of the aircraft damage at the time of reporting.
Iran Used Ballistic Missiles Against US Base
The damage reportedly occurred during an Iranian ballistic missile attack on the Jordanian installation on September 8.
Iran launched strikes against US bases and regional targets following a sharp escalation in hostilities between Washington and Tehran. American and Jordanian air defences intercepted many incoming missiles, but some appear to have reached the base.
American officials said no US personnel were killed in the attack.
US-Iran Conflict Escalates Across Gulf Region
The Jordan strike followed US attacks that destroyed five Iranian oil tankers, after Washington accused Tehran of repeatedly targeting American warships.
Iran subsequently intensified attacks against US military facilities and vessels across the region.
Muwaffaq Salti Air Base has become an important hub for US air operations during the conflict, hosting multiple combat aircraft.
The reported damage demonstrates that Iranian strikes have been capable of reaching US military assets despite extensive regional air-defence deployments.
