U.S. President Donald Trump has said the ceasefire with Iran remains in effect despite fresh fighting in the Gulf, including attacks on American destroyers and renewed Iranian strikes targeting the UAE. The latest flare-up has raised new concerns over the stability of the month-old ceasefire and the future of diplomatic talks.

U.S. Destroyers Attacked In Hormuz

Trump said three American Navy destroyers came under fire while moving through the Strait of Hormuz. He said the ships passed safely and suffered no damage, while U.S. forces caused heavy damage to the Iranian attackers.

UAE Counters Iranian Air Attack

The UAE said its air defences were responding to Iranian drones and missiles. The latest attack has renewed fears that the conflict could spill further into the Gulf, where several countries host U.S. military facilities and play a key role in global energy supply.

Iran Accuses U.S. Of Violating Ceasefire

Iran accused the United States of violating the ceasefire by targeting an Iranian oil tanker, another ship and civilian areas near Qeshm Island and nearby coastal zones. Tehran said it responded by attacking U.S. military vessels near the Strait of Hormuz and south of Chabahar.

Hormuz Tensions Push Oil Prices Higher

The Strait of Hormuz remains central to global oil and LNG movement. Oil prices rose after the latest clashes, with Brent crude moving above $100 a barrel. Despite the fighting, Trump said talks with Iran were continuing and that a deal could still be possible.
