Tim Cook Calls India Huge Opportunity

Apple CEO Tim Cook has described India as a “huge opportunity” for the company, citing strong growth across iPhone, iPad and Mac sales as the tech giant looks to benefit from India’s expanding middle class and growing digital economy.

Apple Sees Strong Growth In India

Cook said Apple is seeing double-digit growth in India across major product categories, including iPhone, iPad and Mac. He added that the company has been focused on the Indian market for some time and still sees significant room for expansion.

India is the world’s second-largest smartphone market and one of the fastest-growing personal computer markets. Despite Apple’s strong brand value and rising sales, the company still holds a modest share compared to mass-market competitors, leaving major headroom for future growth.

India Middle Class Drives Apple Demand

Cook said India’s rising middle class is helping Apple expand its customer base. A large number of buyers in India are still first-time Apple users across categories such as iPhone, Mac, iPad and Apple Watch.

This is important for Apple because new users help expand the company’s ecosystem. Once customers enter the Apple ecosystem through one product, they are more likely to buy other Apple devices and services over time.

Apple Expands Retail And Enterprise Push

Apple has also been expanding its retail presence in India. The company recently opened its sixth retail store in the country, strengthening its direct connection with Indian consumers.

The company is also seeing growing traction in the enterprise segment. Cook highlighted corporate adoption of Apple products in India, including large-scale MacBook deployments by Indian firms.

The comments underline India’s growing importance in Apple’s global strategy, both as a consumer market and as a long-term growth engine.
