Commercial LPG Price Hiked By Rs 993

Commercial LPG cylinder prices were increased by Rs 993 from May 1, pushing the cost of a 19-kg cylinder in Delhi to Rs 3,071.50, while domestic LPG rates were kept unchanged for household consumers.

Commercial LPG Cylinder Price Hike

Oil marketing companies revised the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders at the start of the month, with the latest hike taking effect from Friday, May 1, 2026.

The steep increase is expected to raise operating costs for restaurants, hotels, catering services, street food businesses and other commercial users that depend heavily on LPG for daily operations.

Domestic LPG Rates Remain Unchanged

There has been no change in domestic LPG prices for now. A 14.2-kg household LPG cylinder continues to cost Rs 913 in Delhi.

The decision to keep domestic rates unchanged will provide relief to household consumers at a time when global energy markets remain under pressure due to the West Asia crisis and volatility around oil and gas supplies.

Iran War Adds Pressure On Fuel Prices

The commercial LPG price hike comes amid higher global energy costs linked to the Iran war and disruptions in key shipping and fuel supply routes.

India depends significantly on imported energy, making domestic fuel pricing sensitive to global crude, LPG and freight movements. While households have been shielded from the latest revision, businesses using commercial cylinders may face higher input costs in the coming weeks.
