Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped gunshot injuries after unidentified assailants opened fire at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, October 18. Two people, including the actor’s driver, were injured in the attack, prompting Mumbai Police to launch an investigation into the shooting and identify those responsible.
Tiger Shroff Shooting in Mumbai’s Juhu
The incident occurred near Pushpa Park as Shroff was leaving the area after a football outing. Police said motorcycle-borne attackers approached his vehicle and fired multiple rounds while people were gathered nearby.
Videos circulating on social media appeared to show gunmen firing towards the vehicle before fleeing. Shroff’s driver, identified as Firdaus, and an autorickshaw driver sustained injuries and were taken for medical treatment.
Although Shroff suffered no gunshot wounds, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said the actor sustained minor injuries from gunpowder and shattered glass.
Mumbai Police Investigate Bishnoi Gang Claim
Mumbai Police formed multiple teams to identify and apprehend the attackers. Investigators are examining CCTV footage, eyewitness accounts and other evidence to establish the sequence of events.
A social media message purportedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the shooting. However, police have not confirmed the authenticity of the claim or established the motive behind the attack.
Eknath Shinde Assures Action After Shooting
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff following the incident and assured his family that those responsible would face strict action.
The shooting has renewed concerns about security in Mumbai’s entertainment industry. In April 2024, gunmen fired outside actor Salman Khan’s residence, while former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique was shot dead in October that year.
The latest incident has placed renewed attention on Mumbai Police’s investigation into threats and armed attacks involving prominent public figures.
