Rajasthan Border Districts on High Alert Amid Rising Tensions
In response to escalating tensions following India’s Operation Sindoor, Rajasthan has heightened security measures across its border districts. Authorities have closed schools in Bikaner and Barmer and suspended operations at Jodhpur Airport. These actions aim to ensure civilian safety amid potential cross-border threats.
Additionally, a comprehensive civil defence mock drill is scheduled for May 7 in 28 cities across Rajasthan, including Jodhpur, Bikaner, Barmer, and Jaisalmer. The drill will simulate air raid scenarios, featuring sirens, blackouts, and evacuation procedures to test emergency preparedness.
Security forces, including the Border Security Force and the Indian Army, are on high alert along the western international border, with increased patrolling and surveillance to monitor any unusual activities.
Residents are advised to remain vigilant and follow official instructions during this period of heightened security.
